Four Types of Courier in Pakistan
Couriers in Pakistan work in four main ways. Each one suits a different kind of parcel.
1. Express Couriers
Providers: TCS, Leopards (LCS) and M&P.
These couriers have branches where you can book parcels and documents. M&P says it has more than 750 courier centres. Ask each one about delivery times and packaging.
2. Cash on Delivery Couriers for Online Shops
Providers: PostEx, TRAX, blueEX and Call Courier (now part of PostEx).
These couriers mostly deliver orders for online shops, often cash on delivery. PostEx, for example, can pay sellers part of the order value early.
3. Bus Terminal Cargo
Providers: Daewoo Express Cargo (Smart Cargo) and FastEx.
Daewoo moves cargo between its bus terminals, working with FastEx. FastEx is Daewoo Express’s courier arm for parcels.
4. The National Post Office
Providers: Pakistan Post (under the Ministry of Communications).
Pakistan Post runs General Post Offices (GPOs) and post offices around the country. It offers Urgent Mail Service (UMS) inside Pakistan and Express Mail Service (EMS) abroad.

Which Courier Should You Choose?
The best choice depends on the parcel’s weight, where it is going, whether you need cash on delivery and how soon it must arrive.
Documents and Valuable Parcels
For important papers or fragile items, an express courier with branches, such as TCS and Leopards Courier lets you book at a counter and get a receipt. Ask about packaging and cover for valuable items before you send.
Online Shops and Cash on Delivery
Online shops that send many parcels need to know when they will be paid. Couriers such as PostEx, TRAX, and BlueEx offer seller accounts for this. Compare how each one pays sellers and how it handles returns.
Heavy Goods and Far-Off Places
For heavy goods between big cities, Daewoo Express Cargo bus terminal cargo is one option. For remote villages or sending abroad, Pakistan Post is another choice to consider.
When Does Tracking Start?
A shop can create a tracking number before the courier has the parcel. The first scan only appears after the courier collects it, so a new number may show nothing at first.

Online shops that need cash on delivery should ask each courier how and when it pays sellers. For heavy goods between cities, bus terminal cargo such as Daewoo is another option.
Why do tracking numbers look so different between couriers?
Each courier makes its own numbers. TCS numbers are usually 12 digits, Leopards numbers are 8 to 15 letters and numbers, and Pakistan Post uses 9 digits for UMS or 13 characters ending in PK. PostEx and Call Courier numbers are 11 to 14 digits.
