Why Is My Parcel Late? 5 Common Reasons in Pakistan
People often blame the rider when a parcel is late. But most delays in Pakistan come from bigger things: road problems, busy periods or the seller taking time to hand the parcel over.
1. The label is made before the parcel is collected
Online shop systems make a tracking number as soon as the order is packed. But couriers often collect from shops only once a day, later in the day. So a parcel marked “Dispatched” by the shop can wait for hours, or over a weekend, before its first scan at the courier’s hub.
2. Winter fog and road closures
In winter, thick fog can cover Punjab and northern Sindh. The National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) may close motorway sections at night for safety. Courier trucks then have to use slower roads or wait for daylight, which adds time to long trips.
3. Big sales (11.11, Blessed Friday and before Eid)
Big shopping events like 11.11, Blessed Friday and the last days of Ramadan bring far more parcels than usual. Sorting hubs in cities such as Karachi and Lahore get very busy, so deliveries in November and before Eid often take longer.
4. Small towns and faraway areas
Big cities such as Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad usually get deliveries every day. Some small towns and faraway areas in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or interior Sindh may get deliveries less often, so parcels there can wait for the next local run.
5. Incomplete addresses and phones not answered
Many areas do not have clear street addresses, so riders rely on landmarks and phone calls. If you do not answer the rider’s call, or your address is missing a house number, street or mohalla, the rider cannot deliver and may mark it “Consignee Not Available” or “Address Incomplete”.

How Long Should You Wait Before Chasing a Late Parcel?
Only a booking, with no movement
If tracking only shows “Manifest Generated” or “Booking Record Added” and nothing has changed for two days, contact the shop. The courier probably has not collected the parcel yet.
Stuck between hubs
If there has been a scan but nothing new for about three days in normal weather, call the courier’s helpline. Give your tracking number and ask them to find where the parcel is.

Do cash on delivery (COD) orders take longer than prepaid orders?
They can. Some sellers call to confirm COD orders before sending them, and riders have to collect and account for the cash. This can add a little time compared with prepaid orders.
