Out for Delivery and Failed Delivery Attempts in Pakistan

Whichever courier has your parcel, the last steps work in much the same way. This guide explains what “Out for Delivery” means, how to make sure the rider can reach you, and what to do if a delivery fails.

What “Out for Delivery” Means

The parcel has finished its trip between cities, reached the office or station that covers your area, and been handed to a rider for today's round. Most Pakistani couriers deliver in the daytime from Monday to Saturday and do not deliver on Sundays or public holidays, so a parcel that goes out late on a Saturday may only arrive on the next working day.

How to Make Sure the Rider Can Deliver

  • Phone on: keep the number from your order switched on. Riders often call before they arrive.
  • Cash ready: for cash on delivery, have the exact amount so the rider does not have to find change.
  • Someone at home: if you will be out, ask a family member, colleague or the building guard to take the parcel.
  • Clear address: a house number, street and a well-known landmark make it much easier for the rider to find you.

Delivery Attempt Failed: What Happens Next

If the rider cannot hand over the parcel, the status changes to something like “Delivery Pending”, “Attempted” or “Consignee Not Available”. The parcel goes back to the local office and is usually taken out again on a later round. Each courier has its own rules on how many tries it makes and how long it keeps a parcel, so check with your courier.

If delivery keeps failing, or you refuse the parcel, it is marked for return and sent back to the sender. After that, only the sender can send it again. So the best time to act is straight after the first failed attempt: call the courier, confirm your address and phone number, and ask when the next try will be or whether you can collect the parcel yourself.

Marked “Attempted” but Nobody Came?

It happens: the rider could not find the address, a guard turned them away, or a call did not connect. Call the courier's helpline with your tracking number and the date and time on the scan, and ask them to check it and try again. For an online order, tell the seller as well, since the seller booked the parcel and can raise it from their side.
